Our purple wall is no longer hosting the Royal Wedding installation curated with street artist Jimmy C, instead it has been donated to Children’s HIV Association (CHIVA) for auction.

The online auction began on Monday 18th March until Tuesday 8th April 2019, in anticipation of the Royal Couple’s first baby also due next month.

All funds will go towards CHIVA’s annual summer support camp which invites children living with HIV (aged 11-16) to take part in workshops, creative arts, outward bounds and recreational activities. This year the theme of the camp is ‘Freedom to be’, the aim to help children understand and accept their HIV and realise they aren't alone.

Inspired by the known photograph announcing the couple’s engagement, Jimmy C liked the idea of focusing in on their hand gesture of intimacy, rather than a traditional portrait. Using his signature “pointillism aerosol” technique, which you may recognise from the iconic London Brixton Bowie mural also by the artist, it is definitely a collector’s piece.

One of two Duke and Duchess of Sussex inspired pieces of art kindly given to CHIVA, the other is a portrait of the pair by Ben Riley. Both auctions start at £50, so make a cheeky bid now and support a vital cause!
